How to unlock Password Protected WD External Drive on Linux?

Hello Guys, I am back again for you with new article on How to unlock Password Protected WD Hard Drive on Linux. If you have any question regarding this article mention in comment. You want to unblock your WD drive in Linux operating system then follow these step:

By default WD My Passport Drive supports only Windows and OS X. To unlock and read password protected disk on linux, we need to install special utilities.

before installing this package you need to install python and pip wiithout these installation you can’t access you drive.

Get utils for WD My Passport Drive

Step 1: – Install Required Package:

sudo apt-get install python-pip python-dev lsscsi  

Step 2: – Install py_sq library

sudo pip install py_sg  

Step 3: Download WD Utilities to your Home Directory

cd ~; wget

Step 4: Everything Is Ready now open your WD Drive

Plug your WD Drive in your Linux System and open your terminal and type this command:

sudo python ~/ -u

If you want to change remove or create password on WD Drive

Plug in your drive and Run this command in terminal and enter password:

sudo python ~/ -c

You can access your WD password Protected Drive easily By using these Steps..
